What's Been Happening

It's been a long time since I updated here. Mea culpa. A lot has happened since last fall. Sad news first. During my trip to Scotland, my beloved 15 year old dachshund got ill. Thd diagnosis was grim. Kidney disease. After many anguished months, we lost her in December. Yes, it's old news, but still painful. It also put my writing off track. All of you who love your pets as family will understand.

But then, in March, the most wonderful thing happened! I SOLD A BOOK! TAKING FLIGHT will be on the shelves Feb 2008. (I've built a whole new website to celebrate, conniecox.com.) I've got all the details posted over there.

AND I've been nominated for RWA's GOLDEN HEART® award. I am thrilled. Here's more info on the award, itself.

What I've Been Reading

I finished Cryptonomicom by Neal Stephenson, which I loved--except the rather flat ending.

What I've Been Writing

Last month, I finished a hot, sexy romance and sent it off to an editor. So keep your fingers crossed for me. I've got ideas floating around but I'm waiting until after Nationals in July to plunge into another story.

So, What's Next

RWA's National Convention is coming up quickly. I am SO ready. With my first sale and Golden Heart nomination, I'll be feted and partied from beginning to end.

Then, start on a new book. But I'll think about that tomorrow.
